Pineal gland calcification: common, visible, and easy to overinterpret
Pineal calcification refers to mineral deposits within the gland. A 2023 systematic review and meta-analysis reported a pooled prevalence of 61.65%, but the included studies were highly heterogeneous.
The useful takeaway
Calcification is real; sweeping conclusions about what it means for an individual—or claims that a supplement can reverse it—require much stronger evidence.
Our foundational physiology pages rely on peer-reviewed and clinical-reference literature on pineal physiology, melatonin and calcification. See the sources below.
What this means for supplement claims
Established physiology is context, not automatic proof of a commercial product’s benefit. We look for evidence that matches the actual product, dose, population and claimed outcome.
